Dolphins hosting FCS All-American for 2026 NFL draft top-30 visit
While the Miami Dolphins are looking for cornerbacks, a small school prospect is set to visit the team's facilities in South Florida.
The Miami Dolphins desperately needed to find cornerback help this offseason with so many of their own players hitting free agency when the new league year started in March. And while general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan has found a few options to compete for jobs throughout training camp and the preseason, the Dolphins are still looking for more capabale players at the position. According to the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson , the Dolphins are hosting Stephen F.
Austin's Charles Demmings for a top-30 visit ahead of the 2026 NFL draft. Demmings was an unranked recruit out of John Horn High School in Mesquite, Texas, before committing to Stephen F. Austin ahead of the 2021 season.
In 42 games for the Lumberjacks he recorded 63 tackles, 35 passes defensed and nine interceptions. For his efforts in 2025, the Sports Illustrated and the American Football Coaches Associations named Demmings a FCS All-American. He also earned an invitation to the 2026 Senior Bowl.
At the combine, the 6-foot-1, 193-pound cornerback ran a 4. 41-second 40-yard dash and recorded a 42-inch vertical jump and an 11-foot broad jump. "Demmings is capable of mixing into a variety of coverages but is at his best starting from a press look," NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein wrote about Demmings .
