The rehab news comes after a troubling few months for the Los Angeles Rams star. He was scolded for performing an antisemitic gesture during a December livestream, an incident he later apologized for.
Then last month, a Los Angeles woman sued Nacua after alleging he made an antisemitic comment and bit her shoulder . Nacua is denying the woman's allegations "in the strongest possible terms," per a statement shared with ABC . So, why is Nacua in rehab, and did those incidents play a role in the decision?
McCathern says Nacua is seeking care "to improve his overall behavior in every aspect of his life. " As for the timing, McCathern revealed Nacua was in rehab a "substantial period of time before any of these allegations broke. " Nacua's rehab stint isn't expected to keep him away from Rams OTAs, according to McCathern.
