Notre Dame using transfers to take concepts from Ohio State & Bama

Notre Dame football had a very good transfer class in 2026 , and while the numbers weren’t as big as other teams across the country, it was a high-quality group. Not only are they bringing talent to the Irish roster, they’re bringing what they learned from their previous stops to South Bend. Head coach Marcus Freeman was asked on Wednesday if the transfers could bring some concepts that translate over, and while he hasn’t personally had those conversations, the position coaches have.

He said “hey, give us new ideas. What have you done previously? And if we feel like it fits and it’s going to help us become better, let’s do it.

And I think that’s really important, so that’s a culture thing we need. If you have an idea that can really help us elevate, challenge everything. ” Once again, Freeman shows why players want to play for him.

As the epitome of a players-coach, he’s opened up the door for Notre Dame to take ideas from teams like Ohio State , Alabama , Oregon , Michigan and others. This isn’t going on across the country, as many players often feel like they don’t have the voice to speak up, but Freeman isn’t one of those. Taking tidbits from some of the best teams around the nation makes plenty of sense, and it surely will help the Irish this season and beyond.
