Sixers' Paul George discusses using suspension as time to get right
Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George discusses using his suspension as a time to get right from the injuries.
WASHINGTON -- When the Philadelphia 76ers received the news back on Jan. 31 that Paul George was going to be suspended for 25 games, it seemed as if it was another blow for the Sixers. The suspension meant less time for George to build chemistry with teammates and it seemed like another lost season.
Fast forward to now and that suspension might have been the best thing for George and the Sixers. He looks spry and looks like he has much more explosion to the basket at this stage of his career. After scoring 39 points on 15-for-22 shooting and knocking down six triples in Wednesday's 153-131 win over the Washington Wizards, the 9-time All-Star opened up on using his suspension wisely.
"Yeah, that time off," George started. "That time off was the time I needed for my body. That's been, really what unlocked me to kind of play free and play aggressive.
" With that being said, while George was certainly in the midst of finding his rhythm with the Sixers, the time off has proven to be such a big help for both him and the team. He looks much better than he ever has during his Philadelphia tenure. "I donโt want people to get it confused," he explained.
