Could former Commanders LB Bobby Wagner head to Cowboys in 2026?
Bobby Wagner is one of the best off-ball linebackers of all time, so it's not surprising that he's a favorite of one notable head coach.
Bobby Wagner is undoubtedly one of the best linebackers of all time. Ray Lewis, London Fletcher and Wagner are the only three players in NFL history with 2,000 or more career tackles. However, Wagner will soon turn 36, so it's safe to say his best playing days are behind him.
The linebacker spent the last two seasons with the Washington Commanders , but he remains unsigned as we head into April. The Commanders also spent big in free agency on linebacker Leo Chenal, perhaps signaling that Wagner won't be back in 2026. If Wagner doesn't re-sign with Washington, though, he may not even have to leave the division to find his next team.
Head coach of the Dallas Cowboys , Brian Schottenheimer, recently sat down with Kay Adams and expressed how much he likes Wagner as a player. "You're looking at one of the biggest Bobby Wagner fans in the world," Schottenheimer declared . "I love that guy and he's still playing at a high level, so we'll see how everything works out.
