But now that the games count, he has continued to prove a worthwhile investment. The Orioles signed Alonso for five years and $155 million this offseason. It was a price the New York Mets weren't willing to pay, and so Alonso left the NL East for the AL East.

So far, so good. MLB. com's Jake Rill wrote in a new article that "Alonso is living up to the hype.

" He broke it down further like this: "The Oโ€™s opening homestand was a bit uneven, but Alonso is already providing a steady presence in the heart of the order. No surprise, right? This is why Baltimore went big and signed the Polar Bear to a five-year, $155 million contract over the offseason.
