Falcons upgrade defensive depth with latest free-agent signings
The Atlanta Falcons officially added two more free agents to their roster on Wednesday, signing veteran cornerback Darnay Holmes and linebacker DeAngelo Malone. Both players have reportedly signed one-year deals. Holmes spent the last two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The 27-year-old will bring some much-needed depth at the nickel spot. Over the last six seasons, Holmes has recorded 164 tackles (116 solo), four interceptions, 21 passes defended and 1. 5 sacks.
Malone was drafted by the Falcons in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft and has spent his entire career in Atlanta thus far. The 26-year-old has developed into a key special teams contributor over the years. Over four NFL seasons, Malone has recorded 59 tackles (32 solo), three sacks, and one interception.
The Falcons have made several notable additions to their roster over the last month, including quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, running back Brian Robinson Jr. and edge rusher Azeez Ojulari. Check out the team's updated roster arranged by position group below (free-agent additions in bold).
