Trieu: Key recruits visiting Michigan State this week

It will be a big recruiting week at Michigan State. With many high schools on spring break, the Spartans will get a number of out of state prospects on campus for spring practices Thursday and Saturday. Thursday, Shakopee (Minn.

This will be Betton’s first visit to Michigan State. Assistant head coach Levar Woods conducted a home visit with Betton in January. The good news for the Spartans is that Betton has a long running relationship with Woods from when he was at Iowa.

However, this recruitment is an uphill battle as Nebraska, Penn State and others have strong relationships here. Heavily-recruited sophomore defensive end Kameron McGee will also visit on Thursday. A standout at Chicago Brother Rice, the 6-foot-3, 235-pound McGee is a consensus Top 60 national prospect.
