SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — The defending state champions find themselves in familiar territory entering the final weeks of the regular season. The No. 6 Wall Hawks enter the first week of April on a red-hot, 14-game winning streak, currently 16-7 overall and 8-0 in district.
The Hawks most recently swept Merkel in a home-and-away series, outscoring the Badgers 30-2 in just two games. In addition to the winning streak, the Hawks have produced double-digit victory margins in each of their last nine games. Up next, Wall gears up to face Clyde.
The No. 6 Hawks’ battle-tested mentality hasn’t changed. “I think we all just played as a team and played together [versus Merkel],” senior Hagyn Barbee said.
