BLAKELY, Ga. ( WDHN )—The Early County Bobcats can now take their name out of the coaching search after hiring Laversay Taylor to lead the program on the gridiron. On Wednesday, it was announced that Taylor would be taking over the top spot, weeks after former head coach Frank Killingsworth left the program to become the offensive line coach for the Ashford Yellowjackets.
Taylor is no stranger to Early County and its football program; a graduate of Early County High School, Taylor also served as the team’s defensive backs coach, strength and conditioning coach, and head girls’ track coach. The Bobcats will open their 2026 regular season at home when they take on the Crisp County Cougars on August 21st. Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
