Steelers Have Obvious Player to Sign to Fill Biggest Need Outside of QB
The Pittsburgh Steelers still don’t have the answers that many were hoping for them to have over the past few weeks. With free agency underway, it looks like the Steelers will either go the draft route or wait until the later stages of free agency to get everything underway. While the quarterback situation gets most of the attention, especially with the waiting game with Aaron Rodgers, the Steelers’ offensive line could also use some help.
No matter who the quarterback is, Pittsburgh has to do a better job of keeping them up. Gary Davenport of BR linked Mekhi Becton to the Pittsburgh Steelers as a potential solution to that. Becton has been somewhat of a polarizing player in parts of his career, but there’s a lot of talent to like.
“There are two positions that have seemingly been in flux in Pittsburgh for years… The second is the offensive line, which has been a carousel for the past several seasons. “It’s possible the Steelers could use the 21st overall pick on a lineman. But the team has other needs on both sides of the ball, and the interior linemen still on the market should be available at something of a discount—including guard Mekhi Becton.
Becton’s 2025 season was a letdown compared to the year before. But he's still just 26 years old and the 6'7" 363-pounder has the frame to be an absolute bulldozer. ” Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger is in the same boat as Davenport, at least in the sense of adding an offensive lineman.
He believes the Steelers should draft a few of them this year, even in the first few rounds. “I’m still sticking to getting line in the first round. I think you take the best available linemen.
