The Green Bay Packers ' wide receiver room is filled with exciting young talent, and as a result, the position group has gotten crowded, which could lead to a fan favorite getting cut.
Sports Illustrated's Bill Huber believes there's a chance Jayden Reed or Dontayvion Wicks will not be on Green Bay's roster come Week 1. "Reed is a big-time player. He is an explosive route runner, excellent after the catch, an underrated deep threat and a strong, positive presence in the locker room.

Why Wicks is more likely to be cut than Reed Though Reed had an injury-riddled 2025 season and didn't have a breakout season many expected to see, he is still a dynamic playmaker when on the field and has the potential to be a long-term offensive threat for Green Bay.
Wicks is also still young at 24 and has made the most of limited snaps so far in his career. However, it would be much easier for the Packers to move on from a former fifth-round pick in Wicks than from Reed, who was taken in the second round just two years ago. Additionally, Wicks' name has already been mentioned in a few trade rumors , so it's not out of the realm of possibilities that general manager Brian Guteknyst is already considering cutting ties with the Virginia product.
