Weston McKennie opened the scoring and Patrick Agyemang closed it but the US gave up five goals to Belgium in between and ended with an embarrassing 5-2 score line though arguably the actual flow of the game was not that bad.
The ratings were not particularly surprising, with most players scoring well below average, particularly those who played defense or came in as substitutes in the second half when things really got away from the US. Of the starters Matt Turner (3. 68) and Tim Ream (3.
7) were hit particularly hard. This isnโt particularly surprising for a keeper who gives up five goals, and it seems like it will be hard for Turner to break into the starting lineup again but he really wasnโt done any favors by his defense, including Ream whoโs handball was pretty avoidable. There were a couple of players who rose above the fray, in particular Antonee Robinson who was a welcome sight returning to the lineup, bombing up and down the left side again and goal scoring Weston McKennie, who missed an early chance but was able to bring his club form to bear on his international appearance, scoring a goal and making his presence felt throughout the match.
Robinson scored a 6. 69 but it was McKennie with an even 7. 0 who walks away with your SSFC Man of the Match honors.
