Penn State coach shares bold prediction on landing future commitments
The Penn State Nittany Lions have landed two 2027 recruits in the last few days, and former interim coach Terry Smith expects them to keep coming.
After an initial period of uncertainty in the first few months of Matt Campbell’s tenure, things appear to be shaping up nicely around State College. Penn State has ramped up their recruiting intensity recently, earning commitments from three-star cornerbacks Semajay Robinson and Zachary Gleason Jr. from the class of 2027.
These two wins for the Nittany Lions have enticed some other prospects to join the team in recent days, with some of the team’s offered players showing more interest, and some of them even naming Penn State as the top school on their list . The coaching staff obviously has more insight into the process than anyone else, which makes it notable that former interim head coach Terry Smith made a bold prediction about their recruiting efforts in the coming weeks. “We’re going to have some exciting news here shortly” (Gleason Jr.
’s commitment), Smith told members of the media. “Once you get one — two, three, four, five tend to pop — and we’re going to make a run on it. ” Penn State's Terry Smith predicts "exiting news" (that happened) & anticipates a recruiting run for the Lions.
