High school soccer: Vandegrift, LASA advance to state semifinals in UIL playoffs
Vandegrift and LASA advanced to the state semifinals of the UIL boys soccer playoffs with wins in the regional finals Tuesday.

Class 6A Division II Vandegrift 3, Brownsville Veterans Memorial 1: Luke Hawley had a goal and assist, Ryder Atwood and Xander Yung scored, and Grant Teodecki had two assists to lead the Vipers to their third straight appearance in the state semifinals. Class 5A Division II LASA 4, Bastrop 0: Kiran Kini had a brace and both Lucas Thomaz and Juan Pizano scored as the Raptors continue to make program history. Martin Fuchs-Bueno, Santiago Wingrove and Jonathon Herandez all had assists, while Eamon Griffin and Marco Vidal combined for the clean sheet.
