The Cleveland Browns are back at it again this offseason, seriously toying with holding the most depressing quarterback competition imaginable in the draft. Normally, the NFL Draft would hold some hope. But this year's class is presumed to be Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza and a bunch of guys who, if everything breaks correctly, could possibly become functional starting quarterbacks.
Cade Klubnik is a QB prospect in the 2026 draft class. He scored a 7. 54 RAS out of a possible 10.
00, ranking 274 out of 1111 QB from 1987 to 2026. While Klubnik has good mobility and natural touch as a passer, his performance in the second half of the 2025 season declined. He’s undersized but athletic, showing ability to attack zone windows with adequate velocity over the first two levels.
However, when the first read isn’t there, his field vision is average, and he's not good enough off-platform/out-of-structure to succeed at a high enough rate. Maintaining poise and mechanics are essential for Klubnik, so finding a short passing attack with a competent run game feels like a must. The Cleveland Browns should be looking for a quarterback who can bring some excitement to the roster.
