UConn freshman Cam Righi (Wethersfield) drove in eight runs in a 21-5 mercy-rule win at Northeastern on Tuesday.

Righi, a 6-foot-4, 232-pound freshman and former Wethersfield High standout , finished a double short of the cycle on a 4-for-5 day that included eight RBIs and three runs scored. Righi's eight RBIs were the most in a game for UConn since Paul Tammaro drove in nine against St. John's on April 14, 2024.

Righi, the 2025 Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year and GametimeCT All-State selection , had a two-run triple, three-run home run, two singles and a bases-loaded walk. The home run was Righi's fifth of the season, and the eight RBI gave him 24 for the season in 20 games. The triple was his first of the season.

Righi is hitting . 373 for the Huskies, who return home to play on Thursday in the first of three home games against Creighton. Righi began his day with a single and a stolen base in the top of the first inning.
