Jaguars owner, team president discuss temporary relocation to Orlando
Jaguars officials joined Orlando officials at a press conference Monday morning to celebrate the team’s one-year relocation to Orlando.
All 32 NFL owners unanimously voted to approve the Jacksonville Jaguars temporary one-year relocation to Orlando in 2027. The Jaguars will play a minimum of seven regular season games at Camping World Stadium and they could also host a playoff game if they advance to that point of the season. One of those 32 “yes” votes came from Jaguars owner Shad Khan.
He said his organization was sold on Orlando from Day 1 and called Orlando their perfect home away from home. “I believe the league got it right yesterday with the unanimous approval of Orlando as our home here next year in 2027,” said Khan. “I do want to thank Commissioner Roger Goodell and the other 31 owners.
Obviously, we were sold on Orlando from day one. ” Khan was joined at Wednesday’s press conference by Jaguars president Mark Lamping. He said Orlando’s $400 million renovation to Camping World Stadium helped deliver this day.
“We are fortunate to have found a temporary home that is in close proximity to Jacksonville, an NFL-ready stadium, a strong NFL market that is also one of the world’s top leisure destinations, and community and political leaders who understand the power of the NFL and the positive impact it can have on a community and its residents,” said Lamping. Visit Orlando estimates the Jaguars relocation to Orlando in 2027 will generate an estimated $160 million in economic impact to the region.
