On Wednesday, it was the Baltimore Orioles enjoying an MLB first at the expense of the Texas Rangers . Albert Suarez was on the mound working with an 8-3 lead in the top of the ninth inning. Evan Carter was batting for the Rangers, facing a 1-2 count with two outs.

Suarez threw a heater on the outside corner, initially called a ball. Samuel Basallo was behind the plate as Adley Rutschman got the day game off, and so the young catcher Basallo tapped the top of his head to initiate an ABS challenge. The challenge showed that the pitch had caught the outside corner.

Strike three, game over. For the first time in MLB history, a game has ended with a challenge pic. twitter.

But in this case, it doesn't feel that bad. End the game on a pitch that was in the strike zone for strike three.
