They've battled injury after injury at a time when the squad desperately needed time together. After all, the overhaul from the summer hasn't worked and Liverpool aren't the free-flowing team they used to be. Gelling together is infinitely more difficult when players are dropping in and out of the side, too.
And so it's left Liverpool where they are now. The Reds are struggling in qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League, while they have the mammoth task of Paris Saint-Germain in this season's quarterfinals. But the squad is to receive a boost.
