The Eagles scored 15 runs on 13 hits, with five pitchers combining on a 1-hit shut out in a 15-0 win over the Athenians.
"I was pleased with the guys," Zionsville head coach Jered Moore said. "Fortunately we have been able to get outside and scrimmage a lot, and the kids were ready to face someone new. We got almost everyone in, and it was a true team win.
" Zionsville took an early lead in the first inning when Blake Cope tripled to lead off the game and scored on a Tyler Hughes ground out. A two-out rally in the second extended the lead to 5-0, when six-straight Eagles reached with two outs. Hughes had an RBI in the rally, and Myles Poulin drove in two with a single.
