The 10-1 flyweight gained attention during season 33 of The Ultimate Fighter, where he fought his way through the competition but fell short in the final. Idiris lost to Joseph Morales via submission at UFC 319 in August, a result that came as a surprise to many fans following his strong run on the show.

He made his debut against Ode Osbourne at UFC Houston, picking up what was initially recorded as a unanimous decision win. But that result has since been changed to a no contest after Idiris failed an in-competition drug test.

The positive sample, taken on February 21, was reported by Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD). According to the UFC’s statement on Tuesday, Idiris tested positive for hydrochlorothiazide—a banned diuretic listed under Diuretics and Masking Agents on the UFC Prohibited List. The UFC noted: “Upon notification of this adverse finding, Idiris has been fully cooperative with CSAD.

” Idiris stated that he had taken a product containing hydrochlorothiazide the day before weigh-ins to help him hit the contracted weight. Despite his cooperation, CSAD decided not to reduce his suspension, citing the seriousness of using a diuretic during fight week and the benefit it gave him in making weight. The suspension is already underway and will run until February 21 next year.
