49ers met with ballhawking safety at Utah State Pro Day
The San Francisco 49ers may be looking to add help to the back end of their secondary in the 2026 NFL draft.
The San Francisco 49ers could be looking to add safety help in the 2026 NFL draft, so it's not a huge surprise they were among the teams to meet with Utah State safety Ike Larsen at the school's Pro Day. According to Sports Illustrated's Justin Melo, the 49ers were one of eight teams to meet with Larsen on March 18 when the Aggies prospects held on-field workouts for pro scouts. Larsen is an interesting prospect.
He wasn't invited to the combine, but his Pro Day workout would've made him one of the more athletic safeties at the pre-draft event. He ran a 4. 51 40-yard dash while turning in a 4.
21 in the shuttle and a 6. 81 3-cone. His shuttle time would have been the second-best mark among safeties that worked out at the combine.
His 3-cone mark would've been second among all players per Melo. Those numbers help explain his success creating turnovers in college. He posted 10 interceptions in 44 games over his final four seasons, including four each in the 2022 and 2023 campaigns.
