The San Francisco 49ers will almost certainly move on from Brandon Aiyuk this offseason, but Jed York isn't ruling out a return in 2026.

The San Francisco 49ers have likely made most of their biggest moves already, but the trade or release of wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has yet to happen to this point, as the team looks to find a trade partner willing to send them a valuable pick in return. While general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan have made it clear that they'll be moving on from Aiyuk this offseason, one way or another, 49ers owner Jed York isn't ruling out a reunion between the player and team in 2026. "BA is a very talented guy, would love to bring him back into the fold.

And if not, I think he's a valuable asset other people would want, and we're going to make sure that we get value and we bring talent into our building," York said at the league meetings this week. "I think anything's possible. We want to make sure that we have as talented of a roster as possible.

First and foremost, he needs to get healthy and be able to perform, and I think once that happens, he's a really really good football player... "I don't think it helps trade leverage, it's just, he's a good football player. We paid him.

I think we've paid him more millions of dollars than snaps that he's had. I would like to see him play for us. We paid him for a reason.
