Former Phillies sideline reporter finds new home covering a different sport
Hatcher says covering the PBA Tour has been “so much more fun” than she anticipated after leaving NBC Sports Philadelphia earlier this year.
Just a few months after leaving NBC Sports Philadelphia, Taryn Hatcher has a new broadcast home, and is covering an entirely different sport. The Inquirer recently revealed that the former Phillies sideline reporter has landed with the CW Network, where she is working as part of the PBA tour’s coverage team. “I didn’t know what to expect, but it’s been so much more fun that I could’ve anticipated,” Hatcher told the Inquirer.
Hatcher is part of a CW coverage team that also includes Rick Allen, a former lead announcer for NASCAR, and former professional bowler Kyle Sherman. NBC Sports Philadelphia told Hatcher that her role was being cut after the end of the 2025 season. “While the news was pretty heartbreaking, I have to acknowledge that it was a really fun run,” Hatcher posted on X post in late February.
“I loved every second of it. I’m grateful for everyone who tuned in over the years, and for the wonderful people I’ve met over the years. ” The Delran native and Rutgers graduate also revealed on social media that she was dealing with “a little bit of a health situation” that she said caused her to turn down multiple jobs, including one as a sideline reporter for an “incredible” franchise.
She did not name the team. Hatcher joined NBC Sports in the summer of 2018 after working for three years in Hawaii. She had been the Phillies sideline reporter since 2023 and previously had worked as a rink side reporter with the Flyers.
