Bucs HC Todd Bowles admits the roster needed some changes for 2026

Speaking at the NFL's annual meeting, Todd Bowles opened up about the team and the changes they have made for 2026.

The collapse the Bucs suffered at the end of the 2025 season was so bad that it was thought that perhaps the team would be looking for a fresh start. Whether that be through changes in the front office or coaching staff, or even the roster, it felt like change was coming. As it would turn out, the coaching staff and front office would remain in place, but the roster would not be as lucky.

Some moves were inevitable in hindsight, such as wide receiver Mike Evans leaving due to a belief the team wasn't close to winning a Super Bowl. Other moves meant just not retaining many of the players who had hit the open market, while also bringing in some new faces in key areas. Bucs head coach Todd Bowles talked about the roster turnover during a session with media at the NFL's Annual League Meeting.

He explained, "We thought we had to make a few tweaks. Coaching-wise and playing-wise, and we thought we got better, and we got different, and we got better. .

. A'Shawn (Robinson) brings a lot more toughness, stoutness, and sturdiness from that standpoint. Rashad (White) was a very good back for us on third down, and could block.
