Durbin has started the season 0-for-14 after putting together a strong spring training. He has just one walk on the season as well. He was a great player for the Brewers last season, but NBC Sports Boston's Mike Felgner had some harsh words for the Red Sox and Durbin.
"Caleb Durbin? There's no ceiling on that player," Felgner said on Tuesday. "Unless you just look at the headline of Caleb Durbin, which is that he finished third in the Rookie of the Year balloting for Milwaukee, so you automatically think hot, developing prospect.
Well, no, you've got to look at him. Look at his size. Look at his bat speed.
Watch him. Could it just be that for a player who strung together a decent year on a team that really knows how to maximize young fringe talent, and that's what he is? "Just because he was third in the Rookie of the Year balloting, you think he's got ceiling?
