Steve Kerr: Players can’t vote on awards, they’re not serious enough about it
Tom Tolbert: I was surprised my first year in the NBA, how little players knew about what goes on in sports, like just in general. Forget football and baseball, just in their own sport, they might not have any idea what's I I just figured everybody that that played in the NBA was a sports fan. I was really wrong.
Did you find the same? Steve Kerr: Yeah, totally. And by the way, I think you were the one who voted for Manute Bol for MVP.
Tolbert: That was not maybe I don't think made possible. Kerr: But if you had had a couple of beers when you filled out your ballot, you might have. Tolbert: I might have.
Kerr: Players can't vote on that stuff because they're not serious enough about it. And every year they do those player polls and they're not official or anything, and that's exactly what happens. You know, they start throwing around votes for the 12th man you know they're laughing about it.
