Steve Kerr recalls Michael Jordan telling Suns bench 'watch this' before dunking on Dan Majerle
Steve Kerr: Dan Majerle was also a rookie and he was our first round pick and starting lineup right away. Dan was a stud and he's out there guarding Michael Jordan, and I'm on the end of the bench. There's no way I'm even going to get in the game, and Jordan got the ball right in front of our bench with those huge hands.
He's palming the ball like kind of wagging it right in front of our bench, and he turns. I was sitting right next to Ed Nealy. He was awesome, he was kind of my vet, he kind of took me under his wing.
Jordan turns and Dan Majerle is all over him, trying to guard him. And Jordan literally turns during the game and he goes, "Watch this. " And then he turns around and he goes right around Majerle and he dunks it and he looks back at our bench and he's like chuckling and I'm like, "Oh my god.
" And Ed Nealy was like “You know, you probably shouldn't cheer. He's on the other team. ” Because I was like, "Oh my god,” you know, I did one of those type things.
When you see the guys on the end of the bench and they’re like, “oh my god”. Yeah, he told me you probably should not cheer. He's on the other team.
