Auburn's Chase Fralick named to Buster Posey Award midseason watchlist
Auburn catcher Chase Fralick is on the Buster Posey Award Midseason Watchlist for the nation's top collegiate catcher.
One of Auburn baseball's top players is in the running to win a postseason award. This week, Auburn catcher Chase Fralick was included in the Buster Posey Award Midseason Watchlist, an award given annually to the nation's top collegiate catcher. The award is named for former Florida State and San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey and was previously known as the "Johnny Bench Award.
" According to the Wichita Sports Commission, the organization that presents the Buster Posey Award, nominees must play at least 75% of their games at catcher, and 50/50 splits between two catchers or players who serve primarily as Designated Hitter will not be accepted as criteria.
