The Eagles just announced this via social media. Sporting director Markus Krösche: “Mario is a very important player for the team and the club, and just as important a personality. Throughout his professional career, he has experienced nearly everything, gone through highs and lows, and in doing so gained a wealth of experience that he now wants to share with the many young players at our club.
His contract extension is a strong commitment to Eintracht. This identification with the club and the city is especially important with regard to the new season. We are very happy that Mario is staying with us.
” Mario Götze said: “Eintracht Frankfurt means a great deal to me. I’ve been here for almost four years now and have had a great time so far. My family and I feel very comfortable in Frankfurt.
At my current stage of my career, many factors play a role—I know that a football career is finite. That makes me appreciate every moment on the pitch and in the stadium all the more. The joy I get from football and from this club convinced me to extend my contract.
