Today, U.

S. Soccer announced the 26-player roster for those three matches during the April international window. Sophia Wilson, who hasn’t played since October 2024, makes the roster after she returned to action this month following maternity leave.

Tierna Davidson also makes her return to the roster after missing all of 2025 with a torn ACL. Both are welcome sights for USWNT fans and head coach Emma Hayes. “As our team continues to evolve, it will be great to welcome back Sophia and Tierna, who are not only great players but also contribute positively to our team environment,” Hayes said in a statement.

“Japan is undoubtedly one of the top teams in the world, and they are performing at a very high level coming off their Asian Cup title, which was impressive to watch. Playing the same country three times in a row, and especially a team that is as dedicated to their style as Japan, will be a massive test for our team and I’m looking forward to seeing how our team handles the numerous challenges these games will present. ” For the second time in a row, every player on the roster has been capped, and they will all gain some experience against a Japan team that is fresh off winning the 2026 Women’s Asian Cup last month in Australia.
