Busy week has only just begun for Illinois

Apr. 1—CHAMPAIGN — Brad Underwood's schedule has already been packed this week beyond getting his team back on the court at Ubben Basketball Complex. The media requests have poured in for the Illinois coach.

Rightly so. Not only are the Illini in the Final Four, but it's been 21 years since the program has reached that level. Interest is high.

The schedule only intensifies for Underwood and his team after they make their way to Indianapolis on Wednesday. There's another press conference for Underwood and another open locker room session for the Illini at Lucas Oil Stadium. Underwood has interviews with Westwood One, which holds the radio rights to the NCAA tournament, and ESPN plus a joint interview with Connecticut coach Dan Hurley.

The Illinois players have their own obligations with Westwood One and interviews and a photo shoot with TNT Sports and CBS Sports. And that's just Thursday's schedule. More of the same follows Friday before Saturday turns into a typical game day with a morning shootaround and a 5:09 p.

m. showdown with UConn with a spot in the national championship on the line. "There's a lot of obligations that come with this," Underwood said Tuesday afternoon at Ubben.
