Sixers' Tyrese Maxey gives health update as playoff push moves forward
Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey gives an update on his health as the team's playoff push continues.
MIAMI -- The Philadelphia 76ers will need all hands on deck to finish their playoff push and get into the top 6 rather than have to battle through the play-in to reach the postseason. After a loss to the Miami Heat on Monday, the Sixers are currently a game back of the Toronto Raptors for the No. 6 seed with seven games to go.
For the Sixers to catch the Raptors, they will need to get everybody on the same page and playing at a high level. Tyrese Maxey is one of those players they will rely on as the 2-time All-Star is continuing to recover from a right finger tendon strain. In his first two games back from the injury, Maxey is shooting 5-for-15 from deep after going only 2-for-9 against the Heat.
He will continue to work his way back into things over the final stretch of the season, but he said he feels fine. "I feel pretty good," Maxey said on Monday. "I gotta get out of here, get some treatment.
It's playoff time. So it doesn't really matter how I feel. I just gotta push through and fight.
