I want to believe fate won’t be this cruel to Ponce, but it rarely seems to end up being good news when guys have to get second opinions. I’m not sure about several, it makes me wonder whether the leg is still attached. Helpfully for Ponce, his brother in law, San Francisco 49ers start tight end and noted lunatic George Kittle, was in town to watch his start and is supporting him.

Kittle, currently rehabbing a ruptured achilles, is in a position to empathize and probably offer some good leg rehab advice. Lazaro Estrada was up by yesterday night’s game in Ponce’s place. He didn’t have great results this spring, although his first appearance in Buffalo before being called back to the big club was 2.

2 scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Hopefully he’ll be for blowouts only over the next little while. There’s a bizarre mid-series off coming up, I guess because you can’t make the Pope’s team play on Good Friday.
