'Unguardable' Yaxel Lendeborg lands spot on CBS Sports' All-Transfer team
Yaxel Lendeborg has been as advertised since transferring to Michigan from UAB. And then some.
It was just a few days before Florida would officially put the 2024-25 men's college basketball season in the books when Michigan got a huge boost heading into 2025-26. Yaxel Lendeborg, regarded as the top player in the transfer portal, announced he planned to transfer from UAB to Michigan . And, while the Wolverines had to wait it out as Lendeborg contemplated entering the NBA draft , the 6-foot-9, 240-pound do-it-all forward has been as advertised since arriving in Ann Arbor.
And then some. The Big Ten Player of the Year , and an All-America selection, Lendeborg is one of five players named to CBS Sports All-Transfer Team, unveiled Tuesday , as he helps lead Michigan (35-3) into the Final Four, where the Wolverines will play fellow No. 1 seed Arizona (36-2) on Saturday night in Indianapolis .
"Lendeborg is the LeBron of college basketball and a five-tool player in every facet," CBS Sports' Isaac Trotter writes. "The No. 1-rated transfer exceeded all the hype thanks to plenty of patience and some tweaks from Dusty May.
Lendeborg's open-floor dunks shake the stanchion, and he's engineered a shooting season very few could have predicted. After draining just 37 triples in two years at UAB, Lendeborg has deposited 64 treys at a 37% clip for Michigan. He's utterly unguardable and one of the top defensive players in the sport.
