Did Jason Kidd really get fired by the Dallas Mavericks?
Was Jason Kidd really fired by the Mavericks or is it an April Fools Day joke?
The Dallas Mavericks are having a rough year, to say the least. As of publishing this, they're 24-52 and continue to see the Luka Doncic trade backfire so very very badly. But: Did the franchise actually fire head coach Jason Kidd on Wednesday, as one viral tweet claimed on the same day that some people wondered if Carmelo Anthony was coming out of retirement to rejoin the Los Angeles Lakers?
The answer is: Look at your calendar. It's April 1. Seems like @Mavs_FFL with its 181,000 followers on X (formerly Twitter) pulled an April Fools Day joke.
As you'll see from the replies, some folks got got. BREAKING: The Mavs have fired Jason Kidd. He has coached the Mavs for the last four seasons.
