Former Vikings DL signs with the Cowboys in free agency

•Sky F1

A former Vikings defensive lineman is heading to the NFC east in free agency.

Another former Minnesota Vikings is making a move to a new team for the 2026 season. Defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard is signing a one-year, $2. 5 million deal with the Dallas Cowboys to help them continue to address their defensive line.

He last played for the Vikings in 2024 and had completed a three-season tenure with the team when he departed last year in free agency. He signed with the New Orleans Saints and stays in the NFC now with the Cowboys. NFL Media's Mike Garafolo reported the news of the signing.

Garafolo also pointed out that Bullard's grandmother was a "hollering at the TV” Cowboys fan in announcing the news. It is a fun note to add to an already dynamic football life story for the former Florida Gator after entering the NFL in 2016 as a third-round pick to the Chicago Bears.
