The Washington Commanders have signed former New York Giants defensive lineman D.J. Davidson.

The Washington Commanders added depth to their defensive line on Tuesday by signing former New York Giants defensive tackle D. J. Davidson.

The 26-year-old, a fifth-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft out of Arizona State, spent his first four NFL seasons with the Giants before becoming a free agent. At 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds, Davidson provided size and rotational depth along the interior defensive line. He appeared in 47 career games with four starts, recording 49 tackles, 2.

5 sacks, and three passes defensed. His most active season came in 2025, when he logged 395 total snaps between defense and special teams. Davidson played college football alongside current Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels at Arizona State.

The Giants' defensive tackle room now moves forward without him as the team continues to reshape its roster under general manager Joe Schoen and head coach John Harbaugh ahead of the 2026 season. No financial terms of Davidson's deal with the Commanders were disclosed. This article originally appeared on Giants Wire: Washington Commanders sign ex-New York Giants DL D.
