Early runs power Big Sky baseball past Flathead

MISSOULA — Rowan Miculka homered and Missoula Big Sky used a five-run third inning to take an 8-4 victory over Flathead in Western AA baseball Tuesday. Kade Williams hit an RBI double followed by a Colter Nicolarsen RBI triple to seize control of the game during the third and grow the Eagles’ (2-0) lead to 8-1. Liam Rech went yard for the Braves (1-2) in the fourth inning to make it 8-2.

Fischer Lee and Wyatt Asher came home in the fifth inning on a fielder’s choice in the fifth for the Braves, who only found a pair of singles after that. Miles Arrowsmith threw three innings on the mound, allowing five hits and striking out five. Landon Jacobson did not allow a hit in three innings of relief work.
