Enter Iowa State transfer Brett Eskildsen, who should provide a familiar big-play threat for Rocco Becht to throw the ball to. A former three-star recruit out of Texas, Brett combined the best traits of his track and field background (personal bests of 10. 52 seconds in the 100-meter dash and over 44 feet in the triple jump) with the ability to catch balls.
Last year saw the 6’1” 200-pound wideout put up 30 receptions for 526 yards and five touchdowns, going over 70 yards in four separate games, and even eclipsing the century mark with an eight-catch, 105-yard performance against Cincinnati. This video from Landon Tengwall breaking down his speed and deep ball catching ability should have you salivating . Koby Howard and Chase Sowell are front-runners to earn starting nods amongst the wideout corps.
However, the the battle for third starting spot remains up for grabs, and Brett’s potential to provide that deep threat that has sorely been lacking lately should earn him plenty of run in 2026.
