Tigers will sell out Opening Day again, but you can still get tickets

The Tigers have sold out every home opener at Comerica Park, which opened in 2000. They've drawn over 44,000 each of the last three years.

The Tigers finally are back home Friday, and they'll be welcomed by a capacity crowd. The Tigers announced this week that tickets are sold out for Friday's home opener against the St. Louis Cardinals at Comerica Park, extending the team's streak of Opening Day sellouts.

The Tigers have sold out every home opener at Comerica Park, which opened in 2000, excluding the pandemic years of 2020, when no fans were allowed, and 2021, when crowd capacity was capped at 8,000. com does show there still are standing room-only tickets available, for $128. 80 apiece. On the secondary market, there also is an abundance of Opening Day tickets listed, starting at $150 per seat for two tickets in the third level in left field.

The Tigers drew 39,168 for the first Opening Day at Comerica Park, in 2000, and have topped 40,000 every year since, except for 2020 and 2021. The largest Opening Day crowd at Comerica Park was 45,068 in 2014, back in the days when Opening Day tickets would be sold out within minutes of going on sale. That's not the case anymore, though they've still drawn over 44,000 each of the last three years, including 44,735 last year.
