Anniston (Ala.) football tabs next head football coach
Anniston High School (Ala. ) football is coming off an appearance in the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s (AHSAA) Class 4A state championship, but has been looking for a new head coach. On Tuesday, one of their own returned home to take the vacant job.
According to a East Alabama Sports Today report , Talladega (Ala. ) head coach Damien Dorsey has been approved by the Anniston Board of Education to become the program’s next lead man. Dorsey led Talladega the last two seasons, snapping a 28-game losing skid the program was on while going 3-16.
“He’s a graduate of Anniston High School. My thing is that he’s going to be good on the field and off the field,” Anniston Board of Education member Rodney Fomby said via the report. “When I say on the field, as far as coaching, and off the field, as far as working with the community.
He’s somewhat familiar with the community. We can probably get some good players. I know this first year is probably going to be kind of rough, but I just believe that, with us supporting him on the field and off the field, the Bulldogs will rise again.
