Texas A&M's 2027 class jumps to No 1 after latest commitment
Texas A&M's 2027 recruiting class, led by five-star Zyron Forstall, has risen to the No. 1 spot in Rivals' rankings.
Texas A&M landed its eleventh commitment in the 2027 recruiting class on Tuesday afternoon, as five-star edge Zyron Forstall committed to the Aggies after several recent visits, and is likely slated to take an official visit to College Station in early June. Considered a perfect fit in coach Mike Elko's defensive scheme, the incoming IMG Academy senior has a bright future in College Station. After Forstall's commitment announcement, Texas A&M's 2027 class rapidly rose one spot in Rivals' updated industry rankings, now holding the No.
1 spot, while all eleven commits are considered blue-chip prospects with NFL potential. Ranked No. 2 in 247Sports' 2027 rankings, the Aggies have already received predictions for several five-star priority prospects, including offensive lineman Albert Simien and wide receiver Eric McFarland III.
For Mike Elko, NFL potential and program "fit" are of the utmost importance, and while Zyron Forstall is now the cycle's highest-rated player, five-star safety Kamrui Dorsey, four-star safety JayQuan Snell, and four-star cornerback Raylaun Henry represent Texas A&M's future secondary, built around speed and athleticism. While eight of the program's eleven commitments are on defense, four-star quarterback Jayce Johnson and four-star offensive tackles DeMarrion Johnson and Kaeden Kent are all viewed as future starters, while Johnson continues to climb the recruiting rankings. Similar to the 2026 signing class, just five of eleven commits are from Texas, while Florida, California, and Georgia continue to be popular recruiting destinations.
