Wisconsin's John Blackwell praises former teammate in transfer portal
Wisconsin Badgers guard John Blackwell had high praise for Toledo's Sonny Wilson who just entered the transfer portal.
Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball guard John Blackwell took note of Toledo's Sonny Wilson planning to enter the transfer portal. Sam Kayser broke the news that Wilson, a junior guard, would be searching for a new team to play for during his senior season. It's important to note Blackwell's hometown of Bloomfield Hills, MI.
Wilson is a native of Pontiac, which is just a short 12-minute commute. Wisconsin's Evan Flood noted that the two played together for the same AAU team. Blackwell called Wilson a " gem ", and rightfully so.
The 6-foot-1 guard has started all but one of the 99 games he's appeared in for the Rockets. Toledo will certainly miss Wilson, a player whose points per game average sat at 17. 0 this season.
