FSU shakes up blue-chip tight ends recruitment with visit
The FSU Seminoles have made a move in their pursuit of four-star tight end George Lamons Jr.
Four-star prospect George Lamons Jr. is one of the top tight ends in the country and someone the Florida State Seminoles have been recruiting for years. At times, they were seen as a major contender for Lamons, but they were not one of his final four schools when he revealed them in March.
That didn't stop Mike Norvell and the rest of the coaching staff from recruiting him, and that decision has paid off. He attended their Junior Day last weekend and returned for a spring practice on Tuesday, when he told Chris Nee of Noles247 that he has scheduled an official visit for June 5. That is a major change, as he was set to officially visit the Louisville Cardinals that weekend.
He also has official visits planned with the Florida Gators (May 28), Auburn Tigers (June 12), and Alabama Crimson Tide (June 19), who made up his top four along with Louisville. Lamons is ranked as the No. 240 overall player and No.
10 tight end in the 247Sports composite. The Quitman native is also the No. 27 player from Georgia.
