Georgia basketball center Somto Cyril announces transfer portal plans
The Georgia Bulldogs are expected to lose several of their top starters to the transfer portal after making March Madness
Georgia Bulldogs center Somto Cyril plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal according to a post he made on social media. Cyril was excellent on both ends of the floor for the Dawgs’ this season and the talented center now plans on playing elsewhere during the 2026-27 campaign. Cyril played a pivotal role on a nightly basis for coach Mike White and his staff this season.
The star center led the SEC in blocks per game with 2. 34 and Cyril was named to the All-SEC Defensive team. The 6-foot-11, 260 pound sophomore will be a top target in the transfer portal this offseason, as Cyril plans end his time in Athens following two excellent seasons at Georgia.
He will have two years of eligibility left. Cyril averaged 9. 3 points and 5.
