(BuLi News) On Monday, Bayern Munich announced that it would be parting ways with Raphaël Guerreiro this summer, but the veteran is already reportedly drawing interest: Raphael Guerreiro is on the lookout for a new club this summer after it was announced that he will leave Bayern Munich as a free agent when his contract expires.
According to the Portuguese newspaper Record, Benfica have expressed interest in signing the 32-year-old on a free transfer. Guerreiro is reportedly open to joining the José Mourinho-led club. Despite being a 65-cap Portuguese international, he has never played in his home country.
Guerreiro still has something to offer a team, but it cannot be at full-back, where his mobility and straight-line speed have both declined in recent seasons. As a midfielder, though, Guerreiro is still crafty enough to make an impact on a good team. Benfica seems like it could be a great fit for the former Borussia Dortmund star.
