49ers hold pre-draft workout with high-upside interior pass rusher

The San Francisco 49ers should be in the hunt for more pass rush help in the 2026 NFL draft.

The San Francisco 49ers' deep dive into the 2026 NFL draft's defensive line class continued with a private workout with Syracuse defensive lineman Kevin Jobity Jr. Aaron Wilson from KPRC2 in Houston first reported the pre-draft workout . This continues a trend for the 49ers as they dive deep on prospects who weren't invited to the combine.

The team also had pre-draft meetings with Wisconsin defensive lineman Darryl Peterson and Virginia Tech DL Kelvin Gilliam, neither of whom were invited to the combine. Jobity is a little bit different mold than that pair, however. While Peterson and Gilliam were both 'tweener' edge/defensive tackles, Jobity is a more prototypical defensive tackle at 6-4, 300 pounds, although he did rush off the edge in the Orange's 3-4 defense.

He also has a ton of upside as an interior pass rusher. In his four years at Syracuse he posted 10. 0 sacks, including a career-best 5.

0 in his final season. He also racked up 20. 5 tackles for loss in his 38 games.
