The New England Patriots have had a busy offseason, and they still have work to do, but Mike Vrabel's latest comments likely indicate that one of their remaining moves will not be to sign a veteran quarterback.

After releasing Joshua Dobbs, the Patriots are in the market for a quarterback. While speaking to the media on Tuesday , Vrabel confirmed that the Patriots are interested in adding a third arm to their quarterback room, but he noted that they want a young player. "We need a third arm," Vrabel said.

"We need to try to find a young guy that we can develop and potentially add to the roster, whether that's the active roster or the practice squad. " Fans should expect the Patriots to target a quarterback on Day 3 of the NFL Draft. If they cannot land one they like, then they could pivot to young options in free agency or on the trade block.

If the Patriots want a young player they can develop, players like Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins, Tyrod Taylor and Jimmy Garoppolo are pretty much out of the question. While having a veteran quarterback could be beneficial, the Patriots seem to trust Tomm DeVito. In reality, the Patriots are going to hope DeVito does not have to play any meaningful snaps and that Drake Maye is healthy all season.
